13-8 Stainless Steel

13-8 stainless steel (13-8 SS) is a martensitic stainless steel featuring excellent toughness, high strength, and solid resistance to stress corrosion cracking. As a precipitation and age hardening metal, 13-8 stainless can be treated to superior levels of strength and is an excellent option for many applications including aircraft, petrochemical and nuclear components and injection molding equipment. 13-8 steel is composed primarily of steel, with chromium and nickel being the other major chemical properties. Standard specifications for 13-8 SS include AMS 5629, AMS 5840 and more.
