300M Alloy Steel Billet

300M alloy steel is a vacuum melted low alloy of superior strength and hardenability, with good ductility, toughness, and wear-resistance characteristics. Used in heavy-duty applications requiring toughness and durability, 300M material is most popular in aerospace and industrial spaces including aircraft landing gear, high-strength bolting, and structural engineering. 300M steel is in practicality a form of AISI 4340, modified for increased strength. It is primarily iron based, with traces of Vanadium and slightly higher carbon, chromium, manganese, molybdenum and silicon. Standard specifications for steel 300M include AMS 6417, AMS 6419 and more.

At Rickard Specialty Metals, we have 25+ years of experience supplying 300M forgings and many other product forms to your custom measurements and shapes. Our forging process includes open die forgings, ring rolling and more. Additionally, we perform 300m heat treatment. See below for a list of common forged shapes, including 300M round bar and hex bar, and other product forms we offer.
